As I'm sure many fans of MLP will know, there are many artists out there who have made picture showing what they believe the characters of the show would look like if they were human. These types of pictures have always interested me and as such I thought I'd have a crack at putting down my own interpretation. Now I'll say right now that I've never been much of an artist, having most of my submissions be literature. So instead I thought I'd write about what I think they'd look like if they were human.
And just for the record, some of these interpretations may be similar to what other artists have already done. And if that's the case, then I apologise in advance.
Okay, let's get the easy one out of the way first. I think my vision of Applejack is pretty much in-keeping with many other people's interpretations of her. Orange wrist-length shirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots, and of course, her trademark hat. I have little variation to offer on this count. When it comes to her physical shape however, I imagine her as being perhaps the most muscular of the main six, given that her work requires some intensive labour, but not in any over-the-top way. In addition to this I see her as having a fairly tanned complexion, because again she spends a lot of time outside in the sun. As for her height, I see her as perhaps being the tallest of the main six, say, six ft five perhaps?
Yet another pony who I found easy to humanize. Back in "Green isn't your colour", she was picked to be a fashion model, which leads me to think that, among ponies, she's considered quite attractive. This lead me to interpret Fluttershy as being perhaps the best looking of the main six. And I mean BEST looking, like a complete knockout. Perfect figure, beautiful face, the works. But, because of her shy personality, I knew that she probably wouldn't be comfortable in having anyone see her that way, so she covers herself up with her clothing. Big thick sweater to obscure her figure. Long skirt to hide her legs. Uses her long hair to cover her face from others. Big heavy brown boots. That sort of thing. As for the colour scheme, I imagine yellow for her sweater and green for the skirt.
Okay, I knew going in that this would perhaps be the second most difficult one to figure out (with number one being up next. Rarity, as we all know, is the fashionable one of the group. And that's a problem for me because, as I've said many times, I have no inkling as to what's fashionable. So I decided on giving her instead what a designer might wear. That was easier to figure out for me. I was thinking a white wrist-length shirt which have her diamond cutie mark as cuff-links at the end of them. A black knee-length skirt, with dark-ish nylons covering the rest of her legs and black high heeled shoes. As for her shape and figure, I see her as being the oldest of the main six, maybe late twenties or early thirties, mostly because of her comparatively mature personality. And she's have the kind of shape you'd see on classical statues and the like, with curves and all, but far more comfortable in showing them off than Fluttershy.
And here we have the one I knew I'd have the hardest time figuring out. Pinkie Pie's nature as "the random one" meant that I knew her dress sense would have to follow suit. And if you know me at all, you know I don't do random well. I see her clothing as being the most cluttered of the main six. Short-sleeve short covered by an un-zipped jacket of some sort. Shorts with ridiculously long mis-matched socks on the rest of her legs. Sneakers. All that sort of thing. Her balloon cutie mark would be on the shirt and every item of clothing would be a variation of pink in some way. As for her shape, I see her as carrying a little extra weight compared to the others, mostly due to her greater love of confectionary, but never to a degree that it makes her look unhealthy or lacking in self-restraint.. But still possessing of that energy and bounciness in spite of that figure.
Being the sporty, athletic type, I've always imagined Rainbow Dash as having a far more athletic figure than the rest of them. She's toned, but not to the extent that Applejack would be, whose musculature would mostly come from, heavy labour. Raibow would be more sleek, fairly flat-chested and also shorter than the rest. It's just always amused me to think of this big pile of energy not being as big as the rest of them. As for her clothes, I think she'd do well with the kind of atiree you'd see on basketball players of professional runners. Shorts, sports vests, sneakers, that type of thing. The clothing would also be fairly tight, as she's so confident that she doesn't care what people might think of her figure. As such she's going to be pretty much the opposite of Fluttershy in this regard, not much of a figure but far more willing to show it off anyway.
As for our main heroine, with her being a student, I've interpreted her as perhaps being the youngest of the main cast. Late teens to early twenties. She'd wear a variation on a school-girl outfit, such as a chequered knee-length skirt, Mary-Jane black shoes, and white socks than go halfway up her shins. On the rest of her I see her wearing a wrist length white buttoned shirt covered by a purple sweater-vest bearing her cutie mark on the front. Also, being the youngest, I see her as having a less developed figure than the older characters like Rarity or Pinkie Pie. But she still has a figure, although like Pinkie she's less than comfortable with showing it off, hence the sweater vest. And having a great love of reading and studying in dusty old libraries, I see her as having a somewhat paler complexion than the others, having not exposed herself to as much sunlight as them, but not to a degree that she looks unhealthy.
I know Spike is called a baby in the show, but the way he behaves always led me to think of him as more of a ten-year-old. Like most humanizations of him, I think he'd have green hair, styled in a way that resembled his green crest in the show. Because of his appetite, I think that, like Pinkie, he'd a bit of extra weight to him, but not overly so. His clothing would be along the lines of a green shirt covered by a purple jacket and shorts with sneakers. Not much else to say about that one really.
Being royalty, I knew that thinking of a look for Celestia and her sister would be difficult. But, as Celestia is interpreted as being not only royal, but also akin to a deity in this world, I thought she'd dress in a more godly manner. There'd be a single long white dress, but not flowing behind her in some ridiculous way. She's have her usual ornaments of gold bracelets, necklace and tiara. And for her shape and size, she's have a mature look to her face, being centuries old. And also she's be much taller than the other characters I've described, by a full head at least. Her figure would be along the lines of Rarity's, like the kind you'd see on museum statues of ancient Greek goddesses. Being a representitive of the sun, and therefore spending a lot of time in daylight, I see her as having a more tanned skin tone, like Applejack.
As shown in her first focus episode, "Luna Eclipsed", Luna has a hard time in adjusting to modern Equestrian life. As such I decided that her attire should in some way reflect an older style of dress for royalty, harking back to a more ancient time. She's still have much of the regal bearing of Celestia, like the flowing dress and bracelets and stuff. But she'd also be clad in the garb of warrior leaders from past ages, including various pieces of armour like greaves and bracers, perhaps emblazed with the moon emblem. As for hr shape and height, I of course see her as shorter than Celestia and more youthful in her face, but her figure I think would be less developed, again showing her being the younger of the siblings despite her centuries-old lifespan. In addition, much like how Celestia's time in the sun has made her skin somewhat darker, so to will Luna's tenture of the night make her paler than most.
In terms of their heights, I see the Cutie Mark Crusaders pretty much as being the same size as Spike, around ten years old. But there would of course be some variation, but mostly in-keeping with their respective elders. Applebloom would be the tallest, though only by a little. Scootaloo would be the shortest and Sweetie Belle would fall in the middle somewhere. As for their dress sense, I see Sweetie being the most "girly" of the three, so would wear a dress with her usual colourings, as well as white shoes similar to those of Twilight. Scootaloo would be the full-on tomboy with shorts, a t-shirt, sneakers and perhaps even elbow and knee-guards given her tendency for extreme sports. As for Applebloom , I think she'd have a yellow shirt and the rest of her would be covered in a blue bib-and-brace overall. I don't see her as wearing cowboy boots like her older sister, but I think she'd go along with simple brown slip-ons instead.
Well. That's all I have to say about the various humanizations that have gone through my head.
